Amanda Barton attended the Sydney Conservatorium High School and graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a 4 year Bachelor of Music degree, majoring in Flute studying with teachers Margaret Crawford & Mark Walton.
Amanda was a member of the NSW State Symphony Orchestra, touring to Europe in 1996 and performing at the Annual International Conference held in Amsterdam. She performed at the Sydney Convention Centre for Diana, Princess of Wales, and for for the Norwegian Paralympic Team during the 2000 Olympics. She toured to Japan in 2001 with the SBS Youth Orchestra. She has performed at the Sydney Opera House, Government House, Sydney Convention Centre and many other venues as a soloist and orchestral player, including accompanying James Morrison & Kate Ceberano.
Amanda taught instrumental music extensively in Sydney including teaching woodwind at Barker College.
Amanda joined the team of staff at the Macquarie Conservatorium of Music in 2003, teaching flute, clarinet & saxophone.
