Exciting Carmen performance for Youth Chorus

Congratulations to Macquarie Conservatorium’s Youth Chorus for a great performance in Carmen last Saturday!

Chorus tutors Raelene Burn and Vivienne Winther were very proud of the polished performance their fifteen young singers gave, on stage with Opera Australia’s professional singers in a very exciting opera production.

Singing in French, costumed as 1950’s Spanish school children and acting their parts with confidence, they delighted a very enthusiastic and large audience at Dubbo Regional Theatre.

Thank you to Opera Australia staff Kate and Abby for their excellent work with our Youth Chorus - so much was learnt in a very short time about singing, acting and moving on stage.

It was a great experience for the students - they are already looking forward to the next Opera Australia tour!
