Named to honour an internationally significant Australian violinist of the 1930’s and 40’s, the Alma Moodie Quartet features four of Australia’s finest string players in an exciting collaboration.
Led by acclaimed violinist Kristian Winther, violinist Anna da Silva Chen, violist Dana Lee and cellist Thomas Marlin bring a fresh and fearless approach to the string quartet repertoire, invigorating the classics and exploring new works with their combined virtuosic talents.
In 2022, the Alma Moodie Quartet premiered Brian Howard’s string quartet Blue Poles at the National Gallery of Australia. Their 2022 performances in Sydney, Adelaide and at the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival were met with rave reviews, and this year they perform at the Sydney Opera House, as well as returning to the Canberra International Chamber Music Festival and touring to Victoria.
Their concert in Dubbo features music by Haydn, Ligeti and Tchaikowsky.
