Register now to try out for a place in Macquarie Conservatorium’s Youth Chorus, and the chance to perform in Opera Australia’s production of Barber of Seville, at Dubbo Regional Theatre on Friday 5 August.
This is an exciting opportunity for young singers, girls and boys, to develop vocal and stage performance skills, and experience the thrill of performing onstage in a professional opera production.
Places are limited. Please note: the Chorus will be singing music for soprano voices only - boys must have unbroken voices, there are no places for tenors or basses. .
Chorus rehearsals are at Macquarie Conservatorium Dubbo on Wednesdays 5.40pm-6.30pm, starting Wednesday 25 May until the performance on 5 August (no rehearsals on 6 and 13 July in school holidays).
Opera Australia will conduct a special after-school workshop on Wednesday 3 August 4pm-8pm.
On Friday 5 August, Chorus members are required at the Theatre from 3.30pm until the end of the Opera Australia performance approx. 10.15pm.
Cost: Young singers selected for the Chorus pay a fee of $40 to Macquarie Conservatorium, plus annual family membership fee of $25.
A Selection Workshop will be held on Wednesday 4 May 5.40pm to choose young singers to join Macquarie Conservatorium Youth Chorus for this project
