Arcadia Winds concert cancelled
Unfortunately the final concert in our 2021 Concert Series with Arcadia Winds has been cancelled.
This is due to restrictions in Victoria where most of the musicians are based, which have prevented this ensemble from rehearsing or even meeting for the past several months.
Another new date for “Madame Flute” concert
This fabulous concert has been rescheduled for a SECOND time to Friday 3 December.
Don’t miss sensational flautist Jane Rutter with brilliant piano accordionist Marcello Maio in their entertaining program of French music.
Update for students: Lessons still online
This week, Macquarie Conservatorium continues online tuition for all individual, shared and group lessons - so please do not attend the Conservatorium building for lessons this week!
Update for students: Dubbo lockdown
Macquarie Con will be closed to the public from now until the end of the lockdown period.
Ensembles, bands and youth music theatre will not run during the lockdown.
Individual, shared and group lessons will move to online learning (Zoom).

Fifteen young singers will perform this Saturday in Opera Australia’s production of Carmen, when it arrives on tour at Dubbo Regional Theatre. The Macquarie Conservatorium Youth Chorus has been practicing their parts in this opera since the start of term, including learning to sing in French!

Instrumental Scholarship awarded to oboe and piano student
Congratulations to Cecilia de Sousa Shaw, winner of the Daily Liberal Instrumental Scholarship, awarded to the most outstanding performer across all instrumental areas – strings, piano, wind and brass – at the City of Dubbo Eisteddfod.
String Quartet concert this Friday 4 June
Enjoy an evening of inspiring music from the Alma Moodie Quartet, featuring four of Australia’s finest string players. Violinists Kristian Winther and Anna da Silva Chen, violist Alexina Hawkins and cellist Thomas Marlin play string quartets by Beethoven and Schoenberg.
